Hi, I’m Melissa

My work would be described as deep therapeutic massage with an individualized approach to the body. I like to focus on specific clinical conditions while being detailed to the area I am working on with a goal to relieve tight muscles from every day use or injuries from over use. I as well have a soft touch for those needing a more relaxing and comforting massage whether it to be for medical reasons or just looking to relax.

Over my 14 years of massaging I have taken several hours of continuing education and I am constantly learning. I received a certificate for Oncology massage classes and then furthered my techniques by taking continuing education classes for Lymphatic massage. Realizing many of my oncology clients were breast cancer survivors and seeing the benefits that lymphatic massage had to help reduce swelling from surgeries enabled me to provide a more beneficial massage.  I have taken a course in Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques which I have found helpful for clients who need some help with getting their posture back to feeling normal.

I specialize in many modalities of massage such as Deep Tissue, Orthopedic, Sports, Oncology, Lymphatic, Therapeutic and Swedish. I like to use my forearms, elbows and knuckle stripping techniques to go deep into the muscles to release tension and stiffness.  I see many clients for sciatica and low back pain and have helped extensively to alleviate pain in these areas. I am knowledgeable in whiplash and forehead head posture aka “tech neck” and have many different techniques to help reduce pain and improve mobility. I incorporate stretching techniques into my massages to create more range of motion in joints, increase circulation, reduce inflammation and relieve muscle tension.

I have a genuine desire to help others and feel lucky to be able to share the gift of massage with my clients. Nothing makes me smile more than knowing I have played a part in helping someone alleviate their pain or being able to bring comfort and relaxation to their day.
